Early Childhood Movement
Movement is every child’s first language.
From first tummy time through the toddler years, children learn by moving, exploring, climbing, balancing, and connecting with the adults they love. Our Early Childhood Programs are thoughtfully designed around how young children naturally develop, combining movement, sensory exploration, imaginative play, and social-emotional growth in a safe and engaging environment.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. What age can my baby start gymnastics at Donoma? Our Early Childhood Movement programs begin at 4 months and grow with children through age 3½. Classes are organized by developmental stage so babies and toddlers can move, explore, and build skills in ways that are appropriate for where they are right now. 2. What happens in a baby or toddler gymnastics class? Classes combine movement, play, and age-appropriate gymnastics activities. Depending on your child’s age, they may explore tummy time, rolling, crawling, climbing, balancing, swinging, jumping, obstacle courses, and other movement experiences - all in a playful, supportive environment. 3. Does my baby need to be crawling or walking to participate? No! Our youngest Parent & Baby class begins at 4 months, well before most babies are crawling or walking. Each age group is designed around the developmental stage of the children in the class, so there is no specific skill your baby needs before joining. 4. Do parents participate in Parent & Baby and Parent & Me classes? Yes. A parent or caregiver participates alongside their child throughout class. You’ll help your child explore the space, try new movements, and build confidence while our teachers guide you through activities and gymnastics experiences. 5. What should my child wear to class? Comfortable clothing that allows your child to move freely is best. Children participate barefoot, and clothing should be free of zippers, buttons, or anything that could catch on equipment. Parents and caregivers should also dress comfortably since you’ll be moving too! 6. When is my child ready for Preschool Gymnastics? Around age 3½, children can transition from Parent & Me into our Preschool Gymnastics program. Preschool classes take place in Donoma’s main gym and introduce more independent participation while continuing to build gymnastics skills, confidence, coordination, and body awareness.
